 The Che Cafe will proudly be screening "America The Beautiful" as its first film in the Feminist Film Night series. Director Darryl Roberts' provocative documentary examines America's fixation with outward appearance and the unrealistic standards of beauty dictated to the public by the media, pop culture and the fashion industry. Featuring interviews with fashion experts, media personalities and celebrities such as Mena Suvari and Aisha Tyler, the film looks at everything from plastic surgery's growing popularity to widespread concerns about eating disorders. Feminist Film Night on January 15th. FREE, 8PM!
NO MIC OPEN MIC NIGHT #6 on Tuesday, January 21st
The Che Cafe will be hosting it's sixth NO MIC OPEN MIC NIGHT on January 21st.
Signups start at 6 PM.
We will only accept 12 performers.
Maximum set time is 10 minutes.
There will be three ten minute breaks throughout the show.
There will be no microphones.
We will all have to huddle in close and get intimate.
No drugs, no alcohol, no bullshit, no complaining, no mics.
We are killing punk time at the Che, the first act will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.
We at the Che will welcome any and all types of performance and encourage it. Come share your poetry, your songs, your comedy, your performance art. Whatever you've got, we want to give you the space to do it.
THIS EVENT WILL BE FREE

SD Foodbank Food Drive and post-Holiday moshing!
We've put together a great line up of all local hardcore bands to help bring some needed food to those in need in SD. The show is $10, but only $7.00 if you bring 3 cans/packages of non-perishable food. We don't get a chance to do all-local hardcore very often, so come on out!

"END CIV" Free Film Screening
The Che Cafe will proudly be screening "END CIV", an hour-long examination of our culture’s addiction to systematic violence and environmental exploitation. The film probes the resulting epidemic of poisoned landscapes and shell-shocked nations. Based in part on Endgame, the best-selling book by Derrick Jensen. The event is free.
